    Develop real-time CPLD-based decoding circuit for laser encoder. Develop single cycle computation design with 3MHz input and 750 kHz output. Achieve resolution better than 12 picometers at up to 15cm overall metrology length. Research results achieved are 60 times better than state-of-the-art quadrature signal detection boards. Co-develop modal based piezoelectric transformers with better than 99% conversion efficiency within the piezoelectric element. Design and develop self-resonant circuitry for piezoelectric transformers. Broke-free the patent barrier imposed by worldwide leading companies in piezoelectric transformer fields.

    Developed operating software and electronic sub-systems for AVID TM (Advanced Vibrometer/Interferometer Device) which won Photonic Spectra's 1998 Circle of Excellence Award. Led and developed the theories, system configurations, electronic software/firmware of high-resolution dot matrix mastering system, the first true-color diffractive optical element master writer worldwide. More than 30 machines, each system priced at US$160,000, were sold worldwide. Co-developed an e-beam writer interpretation program. Led the electronics, software, and electro-mechanical system interfaces of a laser initializer system for CD-RW and DVD-RW/RAM. Performed technological interface functions with USA Polaroid's High-Power Laser Division on technology transfer of laser initializing and scanning systems. Led the development of this system with primary focus on the control system, human interface, electronic system developments, and others. Developed and installed innovative testing systems to upgrade the internal testing and development instrument at Polaroid facilities in order to facilitate the joint development efforts.
